This device supports passive PoE input and output, allowing it to not only receive power via Ethernet but also to power other PoE-capable devices connected to its ports 2-5. Each of these PoE-out ports can deliver up to 1 A per port with an input voltage of 18-30 V and a total power output capacity of 2 A, making it incredibly efficient for powering external devices such as IP cameras or wireless access points without the need for additional power sources.

This switch is built to endure with a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of approximately 100,000 hours at 25°C and is capable of operating in a wide range of temperatures from -20°C to 70°C. Its energy efficiency is noteworthy, with a maximum power consumption of 53 W when all functions are utilized, and a minimal 5 W when operating without attached devices, thanks to its effective passive cooling system.

The RB260GSP is optimized for performance with 128 KB of FLASH storage, supporting MikroTik’s tailored Switch Operating System (SwOS). SwOS is specifically designed for MikroTik switch products, offering an intuitive web interface for configuring essential switch functions such as VLAN, port-to-port forwarding, and traffic mirroring, alongside monitoring tools like PCB temperature and voltage levels. Besides its Ethernet capabilities, the RB260GSP includes one SFP port with DDMI support, allowing for extended network connections via fiber optics, which is ideal for applications requiring reliable, long-distance communications.
