The Ubiquiti Wave Long-Range (Wave-LR) is a high-performance 60 GHz point-to-multipoint (PtMP) station engineered using Ubiquiti’s proprietary Wave Technology. This device is designed to provide robust wireless connectivity over long distances with a maximum link range of up to 8 km when paired with a Wave AP, and up to 6 km with a Wave AP Micro. The Wave-LR can achieve an impressive maximum throughput of 2 Gbps (1 Gbps duplex), facilitating substantial data transmission capabilities ideal for demanding network environments.

The hardware includes a dual-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 processor clocked at 1 GHz, coupled with 512 MB of DDR3L memory. It supports a maximum power consumption of 20W and can be powered using a 48V DC, 0.65A gigabit PoE adapter, which is included. The Wave-LR operates effectively across a temperature range of -40 to 60° C and can handle ambient humidity of 5 to 95% non-condensing.

For enhanced reliability, the Wave-LR includes a 5 GHz weatherproof backup radio that supports a throughput of up to 800 Mbps, ensuring continuous operation even under adverse conditions. The device is equipped with a single Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port for high-speed wired connections and includes an integrated precision alignment mount to aid in accurate installation and alignment.

Additionally, the Wave-LR features integrated GPS and Bluetooth for improved device coordination and management. Its robust design is encapsulated in a UV-stabilized plastic enclosure and mounted on stainless steel, which provides significant durability. The unit is capable of withstanding wind loading of 286 N at 200 km/h and offers IPX6-rated weatherproofing for operational resilience in various environmental conditions.

This device supports both bridge and router modes in PtMP station configurations and comes with firmware that enables various network functions and utilities such as antenna alignment, discovery utility, and speed tests. It is also equipped with Ubiquiti’s Wave AI and discovery protocol, enhancing the functionality and ease of integration within existing networks.
