This add-on is essentially an upstream switching option. You can switch hosts easily and also get power supplied through the USBHub3c.

This software add-on feature is tied to specific USBHub3c serial numbers and enables serial control via the RS232 interface on the external expanson header. Commands and usage by serial commands is defined in the USBHub3c datasheet. One Serial RS-232 Expansion Connector is included at no cost when purchased with the USBHub3c and Serial Control feature.
